Langstons Piece

Langtons Piece is an extension to an existing Victorian cottage in the east Hampshire countryside. A previous much larger scheme had been proposed but was not affordable and ambitious for the local building contractors. RWA worked with the client to agree a reduced brief and with a local contractor to negotiate a contract figure that was affordable. 

The Client was brought up on a cattle ranch in Australia so the black corrugated cladding is both a reference to Hampshire barns and a reminder of home. Constructed in SIPS the extension is heated using an Air Source Heat Pump and super insulated to exceed Building Regulations. Accommodation provided is a kitchen/living area and double garage.
