About us

Rockliffe⋮Williams Architects was established in Winchester in April 2013 by James Lunn-Rockliffe and Paul Williams, latterly Assistant Head of Architecture / Senior Design Manager at Hampshire County Council Architects Department. Paul Williams and Oliver Golding met twenty two years ago at Hampshire County Council Architects Department. Oliver joined RWA in 2018 as a Director Architect bringing a wealth of architectural experience, people and project management skills to the practice.

Our aim is to distil the inherent complexity of our client's dreams, aspirations and needs into elegant, contextual and sustainable design solutions. We always seek to establish a clear understanding of our client’s organisation, current and future business needs to enable us to give early strategic advice, exploring options and explaining benefits and risks to ensure cost, programme and quality expectations are met.

We bring skills from a wide variety of building types allowing cross fertilisation of skills and knowledge from a wide variety of sectors and we are used to working to exacting cost and technical requirements. We aim to be pragmatic and flexible in our approach, and work with various procurement methods to suit a particular project. Low energy design based on PassivHaus principles underpins our approach to projects.
